Even though the forecast was predicting a super chilling day for Josie + Cam’s wedding, I was confident these two weren’t going to miss a beat! A couple that is easy going. fun loving, and doesn’t seem to sweat the small stuff. I just knew these two were going to be so focused on having an amazing time with their friends, family, and each other, that some chilly temps weren’t going to change the fact that they were embarking in one of the best days of their lives!
Josie + Cam’s wedding took place at Country Lane Lodge in Adel. And from the second you walked into Cameron + Josie’s event it was stunning! This venue served as the home for both the ceremony and reception. And the transformation from the ceremony to the reception was one of the prettiest ones I have seen at this already lovely venue! It fit their personalities perfectly. Josie, a bit more city – Cam, a bit more country. Stunning white drapes everywhere with greenery detail enhancing the soft and beautiful fabric even more! Kuddos to @whitewillowevents for all the stunning and elegant decor!

“Dad I need you to bring me your fishing boat for a styled wedding shoot vision I want to create!….Yes, that old tin boat you have!….
No I’m not joking!…
Yes, I know it’s the middle of winter…
No, it really is going to look good, just trust me!!!”
This is the conversation I had with my dad a few days before an amazing styled shoot at the brand new Emerald Hills in Promise City! But sometimes you are obsessed with the beautiful view a new venue has, and you get this idea, and you really want to bring a vision to life! Even if it means it’s in the middle of winter, and you are up at 12 am the night before the shoot, having your husband take the boat to a car wash to get it all sparkling clean! And yes, a midnight washing really was necessary, because it was reported back that a fish tail fell out of the boat while washing it!! bah!! lol!
I think it’s really rewarding and beneficial to flex our creative minds every once in awhile, and I wouldn’t have been able to make this happen without this amazing vendor team! Huge shout out to these wedding vendors who are just as passionate about weddings and love their jobs just as much as I do!:)

Long horned steers, an apple orchard, hammered copper chargers, snow cones, an overload of fresh floral, and amazing country views… just a few things included in one of my longest blog post yet, because this wedding was so stunning!
I’m so thrilled to have been able to work with Randi and Clint, who said their “I dos” on the hills of Weston Red Barn Farm. My love for outdoor weddings was met in full, and a perfect summer day was delivered to this lovely couple and their friends and family! I adored the personal touches. Everything from their letters written to each other, to the custom bar with each of their favorite drinks provided to the guest. I absolutely loved getting to know this couple, and am so happy for the two of them and their future!

Tyler + Katie Wedding | Downtown Embassy Club Wedding | Des Moines Wedding Photographer
Katie + Tyler. Another couple where I stop and think throughout the day “… I’m so thankful I get to work with such kind and amazing couples!” This past October proved to be a wet one, and this Saturday wasn’t much different, however it didn’t even phase these two! Katie and Tyler were so fun, and easy to work with throughout the entire day! And how amazing Katie looks with that dress and those flowers!?:)
It was also a good thing they had an indoor venue space. Tyler & Katie’s wedding took place downtown Des Moines at the Embassy Club. This venue, that was located on the 34th floor, with stunning views of Des Moines, and gorgeous chandeliers, was the perfect spot for this couple. They were surrounded by sweet friends and family! And I should also mentioned TALENTED, because Katie & Tyler had 3 members from their wedding party sing and play music during their ceremony! And they put on a show! It added so much life and happiness to their personal ceremony, and I’m sure it’s something their guest will never forget!:)
I loved seeing the couples’ personality shine through on this special day! Congratulations Katie + Tyler! Thank you for being so sweet, and congratulations on a beautiful marriage!:)

So excited to be sharing this swoon worthy wedding with you all! This couple was an absolute dream to work with! Not only because of their personal style (uhhhh the freshly picked blooms placed all throughout her stunning hair?!) but also because of their sweetness, respect, and playfulness they have between each other! Katie and Spencer are one of those couples where you think of them, and think “Ug, they are such a good match!” And now they are the couple were you think of them and think “Ug, that was such an awesome wedding!!”

Lauren + Nick Wedding | Keller Brick Barn Wedding | Dallas Center, IA | Iowa Wedding Photographer
I think the award for most versatile and overall awesome couple could potentially go to these two! I loved chatting with Lauren and Nick as we planned out their wedding day months and months in advance! It was going to be a warm October wedding day with an outdoor ceremony, all taking place at the quaint and picturesque Keller Brick Barn! When the rainy wedding week approached, we realized our original vision may not be the case! Nick and Lauren made the smart decision to relocate their ceremony indoors, and lucky for all of us, plan b was also also gorgeous! Not to mention warm and dry!:) Because, throughout the entire day, it rained and misted! And that’s where the bride and groom being absolutely amazing stood out the most!!
Throughout the day, I would run in and out of the venue checking the heaviness of the rain and report back to the couple!:) And I can only imagine how hard it is to believe the crazy photographer with wet hair, when she tells you “The rain isn’t bad right now, I promise the photos will look much better then what you think!” Lol! But these two could not have been any more trusting and amazing to work with!! Goes to show what an amazing team they are, and what a bright future they have in front of them!
I challenge you to look at these photos, and in some of them, I bet you can’t even tell it’s raining! Mainly due to the fact of how the bride, groom, and wedding party were just radiating happiness! (Lets not forget the wedding party, they were also amazing in all of this!) I personally love how the entire day turned out, and am so thankful that multiple times throughout the day, I was able to think “dang… I am so lucky I get to work with such awesome clients!!”:)
