It was an honor to be apart of Lucas and Nichole’s wedding day. I had been looking forward to this wedding since we shot their engagement photos last year and discussed their wedding. The wedding took place back in my hometown, and Lucas’s family actually built the venue where the ceremony took place. The venue sits at the top of a hill where the long drive up to it is lined with grape vines. Very picturesque and unique for this small southwest Iowa town. The crazy thing though, the day before the wedding they were still pouring concrete countertops and doing some finishing touches to the facility. Judging my Lucas and Nichole’s demeanor however, you would have never sensed this tight timeframe. These two were amazingly calm, cool, collected, and focused on what mattered. They were also surrounded by loved ones who worked like crazy to help with all the finishing touches. Their friends and family were not the only giving and hardworking people- When Nichole’s dad gave his toast, their wasn’t a dry eye in the building when he got chocked up talking about the amazing characteristics, morals, and selflessness both Nichole and Lucas demonstrate daily. These two are a pretty amazing couple, and I’m thrilled to have been apart of their day and capture the 1st day of their life together as husband and wife. xoxo
